Gloria, a hardworking single mother raising two teenagers, is constantly in pursuit of the next quick fix to feel better about herself. One morning, she insists that she and her daughter, Paola, start another juice cleanse she found online, only to face unexpected pushback. As Gloria goes through her familiar routines of fajas, diet pills, and cleanses, she begins to realize the toll her deep-seated insecurities and obsession with body image are taking—not only on herself but also on her daughter.

About the Filmmaker
Marian Fragoso (they/them) is a filmmaker from Tijuana, Mexico, based in Queens, New York. Their love for indie cinema drives them to create slice-of-life films that elevate unique individuals, intentionally centering Queer, fat, and BiPoC experiences. Through their work, they aim to reflect their communities with tenderness, capturing lives in ways that celebrate authenticity over trauma. They are a 2023 Creative Futures Collective x Soho House mentee and hold a BFA in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy. Marian’s work has screened in online film festivals and theaters across Mexico and NYC.
