Jelly is a magical-realist coming-of-age about Jelly Johnson, a young, Black girl with a peculiar fascination with death. While trying to solve the mysterious case of a missing neighbor, she comes to terms with a more personal disappearance in the process. Narrated by André Holland.

About the Filmmaker

Anndi Jinelle Liggett is a writer, director, & producer based in NYC, born and raised in Virginia. Her magical-realist short film, “Jelly” narrated by André Holland, was recently awarded the Oscar-qualifying HBO Short Film Award at the 2023 American Black Film Festival. It has since been selected into 16 U.S. festivals in total and has received three additional awards.
Anndi has participated in various fellowships. She recently workshopped her coming-of-age feature script through the 2023 New York Stage & Film Filmmaker’s
Workshop where she was mentored by several industry professionals. In addition, she is a past directing fellow for the Gotham Marcie Bloom Fellowship in Film, a BAFTA Scholar, a screenwriting fellow for Diverso’s Minority Report, and was an intern for HBO's Original Programming department.
Prior to film school, she gained production experience at NBC's Today Show and Al Roker Entertainment where she served as the Executive Assistant to Al Roker. She also led Community Outreach for Brooklyn-based production company, The Skin Deep, known for its Emmy award-winning docuseries "The And".
Anndi is completing her thesis year at NYU Tisch’s MFA program in film production with a concentration in Directing. She obtained her bachelors from Florida State University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Anndi is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment.
