The ambitious students of the TM Landry Prep School enjoyed a remarkable 100% acceptance rate into the country's most elite colleges until an explosive NY Times article exposed the controversial teaching methods of its dynamic founder.

About the Filmmaker

Dan is a Chinese American filmmaker who grew up in suburban Kansas and now works in Los Angeles. He spent his adolescence with a chip on his shoulder, eager to prove himself worthy of acceptance in American society. Now, in 2020, he’s questioning the goal that he’s carried with him for his entire life. What is the value of American acceptance? What do you sacrifice for it? And who outside of yourself can truly give it?

His work centers outsiders - exploring loneliness, misunderstanding, and connection in the modern world. His short film and documentary work has been featured in Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week, and Slamdance Film Festival. Accepted is his first feature film.
